Veterans’ Assistance Hours Set for September, Says Peifer
8/30/2017
HARRISBURG – In an effort to assist area veterans with compensation, education, pension, health care and death benefits, Rep. Mike Peifer (R-Pike/Wayne) will be offering veterans’ assistance hours on Monday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at his district office.

Gina Svoboda, an American Legion service officer, will be at Peifer’s district office, located at 2523 Route 6, Suite 2, in Hawley, to provide free assistance to veterans with a variety of issues.

“As we remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, it is particularly fitting that we ensure our veterans have access to the services they deserve,” said Peifer. “I encourage area veterans with casework issues to call my office and see how we can help.”

Veterans need not be a member of the American Legion to use this service. To schedule an appointment, call Peifer’s office at 570-226-5959. Hours are offered on the second Monday of each month.

Please note, October’s veterans assistance hours have been canceled because they fall on Columbus Day, Monday Oct. 9. Hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 13.
