HARRISBURG – Reps. Mike Peifer (R-Pike/Wayne) and Rosemary M. Brown (R-Monroe/Pike) invite area senior citizens and their family members and caregivers to a Senior Citizens Expo on Friday, Sept. 14.
The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dingman Township Fire Hall, 680 Log Tavern Road, Milford
(off Route 739).
“Many programs and services are available to senior citizens to help them stay healthy, continue to live in their own homes and plan for the future,” Peifer said. “The expo is designed to bring information about those programs and services together in one place to make it easier for seniors to assess the options available and make good decisions.”
Brown added, “In addition, we also have several vendors who will offer health screenings, CVS Pharmacy will provide free flu shots, and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office will offer a prescription drug take-back service. I encourage area senior citizens to take advantage of the opportunities available at the expo.”
The free expo will feature more than 50 exhibitors offering information about health care, insurance, nutrition and exercise, fire safety, financial planning, fraud protection, government services, hunting/fishing and personal safety. Door prizes will be awarded, and light refreshments will be served.
Pike County Transportation is again offering convenient, free transportation to this year’s expo for Pike County residents age 65 and over. People must register in advance for this service by calling 570-296-3408 or 866-681-4947 no later than Sept. 11.
For more information, call Peifer’s office at 570-226-5959 or Brown’s office at 570-420-8301.
